Easter EGGStravaganza

We’ve been busy the last two week running our Easter Programme for you all.

We think it’s been a success, despite a few weather issues, all has run smoothly and everything has been well attended which has been great.

We started with the Easter themed workshop organised by Nicola for the juniors, it was a small group of around 8 the relaxed colouring in and played games in the park involving eggs, and Nicola managed to get hit with an egg luckily it was hard boiled!! Then chaos was released as the egg hunt began, all 8 were racing around the project collecting chocolates and dares for the next game.  Juniors this week have also taken part in ‘Our Newcastle’ project which will be a themed project around the Bridges in Newcastle and what people know and think about the city in which they live, this will continue on a Thursday evening.

We’ve been active over the holidays with both junior and senior football sessions as well as a boxing workshop which was popular! What great way to release some stress and tension with some exercise and some punches?

Our community trips were planned for each Wednesday and you may have read Chiara’s soggy blog about Cragside, good job they had the house to hide in and get a little shelter, I think it was the worst weather we had all of the Easter break! How unlucky was that, nut didn’t stop people dressing up in old clothes, doing the egg hunts and exploring the beautiful grounds of Cragside.  Unfortunately, Gibside was cancelled until May half term due to the weather, but some families came in and took part in some wellness work and had a cuppa, it was lovely chatting and getting to know everyone a little better.

All of the activities which we ran the last two weeks were requested by our members through our surveys and consultations, so if there’s something you want to see in the upcoming weeks have your say, send us a message or come to one of the sessions where you will be able to complete a survey. Hope everyone enjoyed all of the chocolate eggs and everything at Northbourne will be back to normal next week.  See you all then.
